American Women's Group in PARIS |
Our events take place daytime, evenings and weekends.
AWG gives back to the Paris community and beyond. Our fundraising supports organizations that serve women and children in need. We have a committed, compassionate group with great ideas who are always open to new projects! Currently we make wool hats for our refugees in the winter months; there’s a year round Sandwich Making effort, and our volunteers also don their aprons and help La Soupe to cook up and serve delicious meals to the homeless. Fundraisers: Our OOps auction each year invites members to donate unwanted gifts and belongings for auction to raise funds for our charitable donations. If you love the buzz of joining in a friendly auction this is not to be missed. |
Photography: If you would like to unlock the potential of your phone’s camera and learn how to take effortless pictures and selfies, which will be the envy of all, then join this group, led by one of our members, who will share her enthusiasm and skills with you. |
Culinary Classes: We love eating French patisserie, but even better we adore learning how to create these marvels at home! Join this group to hone your baking skills and impress your friends and family with your prowess. Or learn how artisanal chocolate products are created. | French English conversation: This group meets weekly in a centrally located cafe where participants speak for 45 minutes in French with native speakers, then swap for English conversation for 45 minutes to help our French members. This is a very warm and welcoming group for speakers of all levels of proficiency and is organized by one of our most dedicated members. | Book Club: Participate in our book club which convenes each month in a member’s home for a convivial evening sharing insights into books chosen by the group. |
Explore the City of Light in the company of experts and learn about its abundant iconic museums, churches, cemeteries, buildings as well as its picturesque streets and gardens. Tours have included visits to Empress Josephine’s home at the chateau of Malmaison, Père Lachaise cemetery and the National Library of Paris, recently restored to its former glory. |
Lunch around the world. This group goes to different restaurants for lunch celebrating cuisines from all around the world. |
Cafe Chat is a chance to connect with fellow members and share experiences and recommendations in Paris. Let your friends know about your latest restaurant discovery or where to go for a great hairdresser. | Holiday Celebrations: We certainly do not miss the opportunity to celebrate key holidays like Thanksgiving with a big party replete with turkey and all the trimmings. Our year also kicks off with a special lunch to welcome everyone back from their vacations at the start of the famous French Rentree. |
